In a shining example of grassroots impact and community empowerment, the National Association of SeaDogs (NAS), in collaboration with the Regy and Henry Amazing Grace Foundation (RHAGF), has successfully completed a two-week intensive skills acquisition program in the Kukwaba community of Abuja.
Launched on June 23, 2025, and concluding with a celebratory event on July 5, the initiative trained over 100 participants in practical vocational skills, including tailoring, baking, catering, hair braiding, shoe making, and bread production. To ensure that beneficiaries could immediately apply their skills, the organizers provided starter kits and continued mentorship support.

At the closing ceremony, Dr. Uju Patrick C., Program Director of NAS Zuma Deck, emphasized the organization’s mission of sustainable empowerment. He also announced a free medical outreach scheduled for the following weekend to provide healthcare services to residents.
The traditional ruler of Kukwaba, HRH Manasseh Luka, expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a “selfless investment” in the community’s future. He urged participants to pass on the knowledge they’ve gained to others.
Dr. Regina Duru, National Coordinator of RHAGF, highlighted the grassroots nature of the effort, revealing that the program was not grant-funded but supported by friends, family, and generous individuals. She praised the SeaDogs for being “a willing and impactful partner.”

Co-founder Henry of RHAGF delivered an emotional reflection, expressing pride in the transformation witnessed over the two-week period. Participants like Solomon Vincent, Idoko, and Onojah Blessin were recognized with special cash prizes for their dedication and achievements.
Over 50 NAS members attended the closing event, witnessing the fulfillment of promises made—and kept. With this initiative, NAS and RHAGF have shown how partnerships and purpose-driven action can unlock opportunity and ignite hope in marginalized communities.
Since its inception in 2009, RHAGF has focused on slum-based development, tackling poverty, illiteracy, and social neglect across Nigeria. Together with NAS, they continue to prove that true transformation begins at the grassroots.
