Regy and Henry Amazing Grace Foundation (RHAGF) to host an International Workshop to address key issues of vulnerable women and children in the sex slums, health implications and associated criminalities in Nigeria.
Regy and Henry Amazing Grace Foundation, a non-governmental organization is hosting an International Workshop to address key issues around Sex Work in Nigeria. The workshop will be held on Thursday the 14th of November 2019 in Abuja at Sandralia Hotel Jabi, to address the key issues of vulnerable women and children in the sex slums, health implications and associated criminality.
Theme: PREVENTING AND PROTECTING VULNERABLE WOMEN AND CHILDREN AT RISK OF BEING TRAFFICKED AND EXPLOITED (LIFE IN THE SLUM).
Topic: NIGERIAN WOMEN RISE AGAINST SEXUAL EXPLOITATION.

Dignitaries expected at the workshop include; Honourable Minister of State FCT, Dr. Mrs. Ramatu Tijjani mni as the Chief Host, Honourable Minister of Women Affairs Mrs. Paulen Tallen, Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Mrs. Sadiya Umar Faruk.
The one-day high level workshop will also have in attendance, The Executive Chairman of AMAC Mr. Abdullahi Candido and the Councilors, Acting Executive Secretary of FCT Social Development Secretariat, Directors Generals of key governments Agencies, Departments and Parastatals, Chairmen of Committees of the Senate and House of Representatives, Distinguished Senators, Honourable Members of the House of Representatives, Donor Agencies, The Clergy, The Diplomatic Corps, Captains of Industries, Corporate Organizations, Philanthropists and the gentlemen of the press.
Paper Presenters at the Workshop include the Following; Women Trafficking and Child Labour Eradication Foundation (WOTCLEF), The Nigerian Police (Gender unit), Save the Child Initiative, UNICEF and UN WOMEN. Guest Speakers at the Workshop also include; Prof. Jamila Mohammed Nasir, Anglican Bishop of Ikah Diocese Rt. Rev.Godfrey Ekpenisi, Chief Imam of the National Mosque.
The program has keen prospects of initiating plausible strategies that will deliver sustainable solutions of empowering the willing sex workers, chart ways of curbing criminality in the sex slums and safeguarding the vulnerable children in the sex slum.
According to the National Coordinator of Regy and Henry Amazing Grace Foundation, (Dr.) Mrs. Duru Regina, the Foundation is committed to proactive ways of empowering the willing sex workers who are at the risk of being trafficked out of the country for sex work and safeguarding the vulnerable children in the sex slums. She also noted that the workshop will be birthing discourses that will ensure relevance to national human development and advancement as she believes that caring has the gift of making the ordinary special.
